JONATHAN WONG
UX/UI Designer & Art/Creative Director
Hello.
I’m an award-winning Art/Creative director, and UX/UI mobile and digital designer. I strive to create simple, and impactful, people-focused experiences that are a joy to use, and look sharp.

I have taken on projects of all shapes and sizes, from mobile and responsive apps, games, websites and interactive tours, through leading ideation/conceptualization, proposals, UX iterations, design systems and UI design. In practice, I have co-founded a community-led online news aggregator, designed augmented reality experiences, created educational games for popular family tv shows, and built app prototypes for medical, automotive and charitable start-ups.

I’ve worked internationally, in-house, and remotely, on projects for leading brands, agencies, startups, and non-profits. I care deeply about creating world-class and useful products that connect with people and make a difference.

Please do say hello, and thank you again for your time to see what I'm all about.
Experience.
I bring a wide range of skills and over over 20 years of experience crafting interactive products. More specifically, my experiences include:
Over a decade as a freelance UX/UI Designer and Art/Creative Director, leading the UX and creative on multiple mobile/web apps and games for large brands such as Salesforce, the NFL, Amgen, and Hasboro, to independent creators, such as Wasabi, producing the multiple award-winning tablet/mobile game, Weirdwood Manor. Check out some of these organizations below!
I've been involved in creation of countless proposals and pitches, and the subsequent creation of numerous children's educational apps and web games for leading family media networks and producers, such as PBS Kids, Nickelodeon, Corus, YTV and CBC Kids.
In 2012, I co-founded, and was the Chief Creative Officer at Newsana.com, raising $500k during our initial seed-round. An online news-aggregator, Newsana focused on delivering the top five most essential news stories and ideas of the day, curated by a community of experts and thought leaders.
I was the Associate Creative Director at Mindblossom, helping it grow from a basement studio, to a medium-sized digital ad-agency. Clients ranged from Volvo and Mitsubishi, to Home Depot and eBay.
I've worked overseas in Ghana, assisting a locally-owned design studio. In addition, I also oversaw creative communications and outreach for a leading Human Rights organization in Southeast Asia. Likewise, back in Toronto, I was the Creative Engagement specialist at JHR (Journalists for Hu-man Rights).
I have developed a long and loving relationship with all leading UX & UI design tools and systems, such as Sketch, Figma and the entire Adobe suite. I’m also familiar with HTML / CSS.
